With equestrianism in her blood, Beth was a relatively late starter into the eventing world, having completed her first event in 2010 with her first horse, Topgun VI. With Topgun, Beth was fortunate to train alongside the Eastern BE100 U18 squad, but unfortunately missed out on selection for the U18 champs due to injury. This partnership were also selected onto the Hartpury Elite Eventing Squad for 2012-2013.
Beth’s next ride was Bentelijn, a quirky Sandro Hit bred 5yo KWPN mare sourced by Beth and her mother, Sylvia. Benteljn was certainly quite the quirky mare that people depict when imagining a chestnut mare, but through Beth’s persistent training, she eventually blossomed and proved an extremely exciting prospect for the future. Bentelijn evented up to Novice before sadly retiring prematurely due to injury.
Beth and her current top ride, What A Man VDL (many know him as Storm!) have been a partnership since 2013. Bought as a green showjumper, together the pair have achieved numerous of their lifelong goals; including jumping around their first international and their first intermediate, completing their first foxhunter as well as qualifying for 2* level.
Looking forward, Beth hopes to have a successful 2019 season with Storm at intermediate/2* level both in the UK and in Europe, and they will look forward to working towards qualification for the for the 2* European squad.
