Wonderful report from a sponsored rider...

Sponsored rider Rachel Buckle has finished her first season with her new horse Buzz. Buzz was bought as a 3yo racehorse straight from the trainer and here is what she had to say about her 1st year with him.

'EquiFeast have helped me from the start to find the right magnesium levels for his diet and optimise his concentration. Things started with a need to keep him calm as going out and about was very exciting (!), but once he settled into things he went a little quiet so more tweaking ensued and he is now on WINNINGEDGE Silver magnesium free, and has OptiMax before big days out. I always know that I can talk though any concerns or changes in behaviour with the EquiFeast team and they will listen, respect my views on performance and be as keen as I am to find the perfect balance for the horse.

Buzz has taken to his new life as a riding horse like a duck to water and has enjoyed every minute of learning a new trade to transform him into a baby event horse! He has balanced paces and a naturally careful jump, both of which are starting to develop.

I decided to focus on the 4yr old Burghley Young Event horse classes this spring/summer and build our in-ring partnership.

We had the privilege of competing at Badminton, Gatcombe, Chepstow and Hartpury horse trials and Buzz left all the poles up at each competition, showing consistency over 90cm courses. The atmosphere at these events is special to say the least and he coped with this in a very grown up way. His dressage performances improved throughout the series, he just needs more strength and experience in this phase, but I have high hopes for his flat work!'.
