The original Magnesium Free* balancer

CoolCORE is the first ever feed based low calorie balancer to be available from EquiFeast which also contains Cool, Calm & Collected, specifically designed to provide nutritional and behavioural support for all horses and ponies. CoolCORE is a highly palatable feed balancer designed to be fed 5 days a week.

This is a Starter Pack Bundle (instructions below) for horses who have not used an EquiFeast product before and therefore require a loading period. When you finish this pack you will most likely move to CoolCORE Follow On which is about £20 cheaper. If your horse has already been on a product containing CCC, you may need a Follow On Pack instead.

CoolCORE contains:

  • Coat and general health support
  • Essential amino acids and biotin for optimum hoof growth and quality
  • Cool, Calm & Collected for behaviour
  • Low Starch/Sugar (Suitable for horses with digestive issues, good doers etc.)
  • No added magnesium

This product is suitable for horses with metabolic issues but they may get even more support from our LamiCORE.

To get the most out of CoolCORE, it should be fed alongside an un-supplemented fibre and (if required) calorie source. It is important that the rest of the diet doesn't contain ingredients that conflict with CoolCORE. These include artificial magnesium and many herbal ingredients. To ensure you avoid these we strongly recommend that you send us information about your horse's diet. The easiest way to do this is to fill in our Free Diet Review Form:

Dosage rate for a 550KG horse - 5 days a week - 250 grams of CoolCORE plus 20 grams of Cool Loader.

* This product does contain some naturally occurring magnesium from the feed ingredients but no artificial magnesium like magnesium oxide, sulphate or chelate.

Ingredients:

Extensive Vitamin, Mineral & Amino Acid Mix, Wheatgerm, Linseed.

1 mug of our CORE Balancers is approx. 350grams

1 measure (enclosed in pack) of Cool Loader is approx. 50grams.

    Definitely recommend

My ex racer has tendency to become very stressy/spooky and it took him ages to focus when being ridden. Since being on coolcore and morefibre his stress head is so much more level and when being ridden his attention is there from the start. Friends,my instructor and my farrier have all commented on his calmer state of mind! Even though he is calmer it’s by no means taken away from his personality! Using coolcore still ensures he’s getting a balanced diet and morefibre ensures he still getting what his gut needs and I know it’s not having any interference with the CCC.

    Good stuff

Posted by Ali & Brian on 18th Jul 2020

I have a welsh cob x tb 12 yo gelding. Very sharp but lovely. Had him now 7 months. He has been a bit of a drama queen, and has dumped me twice when putting foot in stirrup. Decided to do something about the diet and found equifeast. The coolcore starter took my horse a bit of time to get used to it, but patience, trial and error, and tweaking, he eats most of it, except the dusty bits. I have added tasty fibre to it, and then layer the food (fibre, grass, coolcore, tasty fibre) and leave it dry. this works best for my lad - tried lots of other variations. He is a whole lot better. Reduced all other sorts of magnesium. Tried another fibre treat but wont eat them, so give very small bits now. He is what he is, but if he reacts to something now, he's straight down to normal almost immediately. So very pleased thank you Equifeast.

    Shamrock and Lucy

My daughters gelding was very distracted when being ridden and used the smallest thing as an excuse to misbehave, He's only back in work since January after having two years out in the field and I was concerned if he was going to be the pony for her as he was working against her rather than with her. Our instructor recommended this feed to us and although the first week there were moments when his behaviour seemed to have deteriorated further after another few days a corner was turned and we have a rideable pony that is enjoying his work and the progress they've made is undeniable can't wait to see how he progresses now trying the extras we've had to add now that they're out competing. I'm so pleased with the product and help received I've been recommending to everyone that has a sharper horse, only given a 4 star rather than five as it is still a bit difficult to get him to eat it at times.

    Cool Core Review

Posted by Debbie Penwill on 10th May 2019

My mare has been on Cool Core Starter for the last 4 weeks. There has definitely been an improvement in her, she seems much calmer and happier and doesn’t get stressed so quickly or stressed over silly things. She is still very alert and takes everything in but doesn’t react like she did, she seems to be able to process the situation and be able to deal with it better than before. She still has her moments but definitely a good start.

    Seems to be helping

Posted by Debbie Buckle on 21st Mar 2019

My horse at first would not eat it, but soon gave in. I am nearly through the loading process and I do feel that he is less spooky and more focused however it's still hard to tell fully at this point in time due to spring grass kicking in so there is an element of me not being fully sure yet. I do definitely think that it is helping though so am progressing. My first delivery came and was damaged but Equifeast have been superb in sorting out a replacement immediately. The service and follow up support has been amazing. Thank you.

    Slightly disappointed

    Posted by louisekmp@aol.com on 8th Jun 2018

I love the concept of this feed, but in reality my boy just wouldn’t eat it. He’s not normally a fussy eater but the smell is quite strong and even with flavourings added he wasn’t keen. Sorry equifeast!! What I can say is that the team have been really helpful and the knowledge and customer service is excellent. I would definitely try again with a different horse

    Great product!

Posted by Lauren Coulton on 11th Apr 2018

Was recommended this product via social media due to my horse having erratic episodes. Spoke to Amy and she went through all magnesium levels in my current feed program and I was a bit shocked. I decided to try the cool core balancer. My horse has a history of gastric issues and this balancer seemed ideal and simple. Been using this now for 4 weeks and have definitely seen an improvement in her behaviour. She looks great and really enjoys meal time and is just that bit nicer to be around! I have now placed my second order and am also trying the more fibre feed to try alongside it. I have had nothing but great service from Equifeast and feel like a valued customer.
