LAM Essentials is the Supplement (zero calories) version of LamiCORE. It contains a number of groups of ingredients:

* Chelated calcium helps with brain function but is also the single nutrient we tested to help maintain Cushing's horses. It didn't help them all but it helped the majority. We also have anecdotal evidence that it helps support laminitics and other hormonal upset issues. Here is an example from an Australian customer of ours - Bolshy Laminitic Mare.

* Psyllium is reputed to help with insulin regulation. We have never evaluated this in our own trials.

* Full spectrum vitamin, mineral and amino acid supplement. Includes the amino acid methionine, supported by bioavailable sulfur, for hoof horn growth. This product is Magnesium FREE because excess magnesium interferes with the cellular processes we are trying to support.

LAM Essentials works best when NOT fed alongside dietary ingredients that work in the opposite way. These ingredients (mostly magnesium and many herbs) are becoming more common in modern horse diets yet have no science to support their use. They are often not clear on product labels and web sites either yet our recent diet reviews show that roughly 75% of modern diets have GABA agonists in them and 95% have added magnesium! To Identify if you have any of these things we strongly suggest that you fill in our Free Diet Review Form so we can make a recommendation with the best possible chance of achieving what you want:

This is the Starter version of LAM Essentials. It is the one to use if your horse is not already on one of our chelated calcium supplements. If your horse is already "loaded" with chelated calcium go straight to the Follow On version of LAM Essentials.
